"the grateful man sees so much in the world to be thankful for, and with him the good outweighs the evil. love overpowers jealousy, and light drives darkness out of his life... how much happier we are in the presence of a grateful and loving soul, and how careful we should be to cultivate, through the medium of a prayerful life, a thankful attitude toward god and man!" --joseph f. smith
write patterns for baby sweater and bonnet, and ascot. also make more ascots to sell, because i am in love with them and think every child ages 0-5 should have one this winter, especially out of this mustard yarn.
write my talk for church on sunday. grant and i get to speak on gratitude. which oppurtunity i am not particularly grateful for. but i'll get through it. and the studying in preparation is really getting my heart in the right place for thanksgiving.
get groceries for some yummy turkey day cooking! pray that my family traveling here comes safely- we have a big big blizzard coming. also, drink large vats of my current favorite tea to stay warm.
make the font bigger on my blog. one of my friends says she can't read it because the font is too small. does anyone else have this problem? on my computer it's the normal size you see on blogs. is it mac users? hmmm...
oh and then there's the usual junk- pay the bills, register the car, get an oil change, laundry, etc. but what's the fun in doing all that? if only i could just knit all day...actually i am lying. i love doing laundry and household jobs- i am just so happy to knit by the fire when the day's work is done.
i love this wreath shown on design sponge. it makes me feel really cozy and i want to go take a nature walk to gather up some twigs and cones to glue together. lovely.
i spend hardly any money on clothes- i can't afford to, which is ok, because frankly, i don't believe in it. i like a cheap forever 21 pair of jeans and a thrifted cardigan. i find a lot of basics at walmart- thermal shirts for layering, $5 yummy scarfs, denim work shirts. you'd be really surprised. the occasional gap sale rack leather purse and i'm happy. the total cost of everything i'm wearing is less than $30 together (including my $2 moccasins). it's me and it's cozy, what else is there?
but what i'm really thinking about is harry p. so so so so excited. i am waiting for my sister to get here for thanksgiving to see it, which means i must really love her. also, it makes me miss you real bad, lauren dyer. who else is excited for some deathly hallows? holla.
