and it always looks so scraggily. i mean, i like ragamuffin kids, but it's beyond that. i convinced her the other night to let me try giving her hair a pretty wave just for fun. to my absolute amazement she agreed. (and doesn't she look happy about it?) alas, the rollers lasted all of five minutes before she yanked them out.
and now, the rule is back to not allowed to do her hair. which is why when we see coco in a week she is getting it chopped to her chin. (cate doesn't let anyone but coco near her hair, a direct quote). don't worry- it looks really cute like that, we've done it a few times before:
man, that was only a year ago.

she looks just like one of her cousins (don't know the name, but your sister that has the 6? kids, she looks like one of her girls) in this picture!!!!
love her short hair!tara

My girls NEVER let me do their hair either. On the one hand, I want to applaud their independence, and on the other, they look like ragamuffins.

She's so adorable!! My daughter doesn't really like me doing her hair either, so she tends to look motherless. Drives me batty!
I know what you mean about vitamins . . . I was standing next to my almost 13 year old son this morning, and I realized that he comes up to my chin. I told him that just YESTERDAY, he was hugging me at knee-level. (He quickly stooped down and hugged my knees for old-time-sake. Goofball!) I just don't know where the time goes . . .

Hi Kelly!
I've been a reader of your blog for a while, and I usually just lurk around and enjoy your writings and visuals.
This time though, I feel the need to delurk and tell you that the picture of your daughter with the rollers in her hair is absolutely the cutest thing ever! I love the expression on her face.
And just like Jill above, I'd love to find out where you got the Yellow Submarine t-shirt. My daughter is a huge Beatles fan and would probably love me forever and ever if I got her one.

that's funny. my oldest rarely lets me do her hair. And when she does 9/10 she will pull it out within the hour. I think it's because she was pretty bald until 18mo or so. whereas her younger sister had a plethora of hair that required pigtails by 9mo. she will let me pull and twist and braid (within reason). go figure. or it could just be personality.
I'm all for the cute summertime bob. makes swimming and everything easy.

My mom used to put soft pink curlers in my hair and I'd leave them in overnight so I could wake up and have a bouncy ponytail to wear to school the next day :)
I'm sure your daughter will look back on this and laugh.
